What is education?
Education is the best legacy, which any government can bequeath to its citizen, because it is the prime mover in every facets of human endeavour.
Education, which is the bedrock, which a nation lies upon, gives me the privilege to express my own views on how the fallen standard of education can be rising in my country, Nigeria.
Education is the number two sector, in any nation’s economy, after health, education is the next, without education a nation is totally lost, with education a nation can quickly grow in economy, thereby enhancing the ability and performance of the citizens for the future. Education started right from the time of creation, when Jesus Christ teaches his disciples, that is written in the bible, you can see that Jesus Christ wanted his disciples to have the basics understanding of life, through education.
Education of today has improved to the jet age compare to previous years ago, but today we now have the jet age of information technology (IT), where we now use the computer and the Internet to make education advance. With the computer and the internet, you can access all the information’s in the world with the click of a mouse, that is to say education is growing every day, because it is the only avenue the whole world can interact, interms of communication, investment, signing bilateral relation between two countries, seeking for financial assistance as loan, two countries doing business together, and many other things you can think of, without education, none of these things can be possible.
Most countries in the world especially United Kingdom and United States of America, your country must be very good in English before you can do business with them.
That is why I say education is the pillar, which any country lies upon. That is why we and our government must empower our citizens in any nation of the world, especially the children youth, and the women, although adult literacy is very important in this issue, for them to be educational buoyant for the future development of our well-being and for the nation entirely.
Advantages of education:
(1) Education helps to build a nation capacity building, without education a nation is totally lost.
(2) Education helps to equip our children, to be better citizens of a nation and be the leaders of tomorrow.
(3) With education we can interact, with different categories of people all over the world.
(4) A country that is well educated can have foreign investors, have good bilateral relationship, with different country, and can speak and interact, in different languages, especially in English language.
(5) Education helps a country to participate in the world summits, seminars concerts and hold positions in any vacant or contested position in any part of the world, e.g. the position of the secretary general of the United States, which is available to any country in the world.
With what I have said so far, I hope you will enjoy and understand the basic essentials and importance of education in our country.
